Swindon is carrying out one of the most exciting long-term regeneration projects in the UK and the FigFlex team are excited to see what the future holds in the town.

It is already home to huge businesses such as Nationwide, Zurich Insurance Group, BMW and MINI, as well as being only a short train journey from the beautiful Cotswolds, London and the wider South East.

The 20-acre Kimmerfields former industrial area is the centrepiece of these works. This transformative development is changing the face of the town by providing a further 600,000 sqft of premium office space, 250 new homes, new town centre green space and major connectivity upgrades to improve access.

What’s more, a new Cultural Quarter is planned at Kimmerfields that is unlike anything Swindon has seen before.

Over the next 10 years, this Quarter will bring a new theatre, dance centre, digital media arts hub and other new facilities to Swindon. The town has a nationally significant arts collection and the area is full of talent – and together, these will change the face of the town.

At a projected cost of £80m, this is a major investment for Swindon which could create up to 1,200 new jobs and enrich the town’s cultural offering forever.

Paddy Bradley, CEO of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This is an exciting project for Swindon, which is rich in both arts and culture. Swindon has always had a fantastic cultural offering, from its amazing art and museum collections, through to its nationally recognised dance and theatre companies and vibrant music scene.

“The choice of the Kimmerfields site for this development is an inspired one, linking the railway station transport hub with the town centre through a cultural quarter buzzing with people.”

All of this new development adds up to one fact – Swindon is all set to become a true 21st century destination for business, culture and living. This level of ambition is extremely exciting and is sure to make the town more appealing than ever before.

FigFlex is proud to operate in Swindon at 3 Newbridge Square.
